Ready for some old-fashioned “grillin’ and chillin.’ Well, it’s Woodland Avenue Reunion & Cookout Time again. Saturday, September 14 marks the 22nd annual gathering organized by the Woodland Avenue Reunion Association. Southwest residents – current and past – their extended family and friends are invited to bring grills, chairs, tables, blankets, trash bags and tons of great food to Clark Park from 12:00 Noon and conclude at 6:30 p.m.
As usual, on stage at 43 rd Street and Kingsessing Avenue there will be live entertainment, guest speakers, music, dancing and a great DJ, according to Bernard Diggs. The Reunion Association has arranged for information tables from various community organizations.
There will also be a voter registration booth available in anticipation of the upcoming important Election Day on November 5!
The Association will have available for sale the official Woodland Avenue Reunion T-shirts (sizes Medium to 4X). T-shirt purchasers are kindly urged to purchase the official version since their sale supports the Association’s reunion organizing activities.
A word to the wise, attendees are cautioned to park all cars in designated parking spots only since those which block driveways or other no-parking zones will probably be ticketed.
