Southwest CDC has been helping Southwest residents apply for the Low Income Heating Assistance Program (LIHEAP) for 34 years. The program helps thousands of households with their heating bills (gas, electric and heating oil) each year.
Applications are being done by counselors at Southwest CDC’s offices, Monday through Thursday, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. We’re accepting walk-ins but it’s best to call Nann to make an appointment at 215-729-3293. Everyone who applies for LIHEAP at Southwest will get a free bag of groceries.
Eligible households receive a minimum of $200 and depending on income could receive up to $1,000 to help with heating costs. The 2020-2021 program is scheduled to close on April 9, 2021.
