Calling residents of the Southwest Community!

The Economy League of Greater Philadelphia is hosting a Community Listening Session on Wed Aug 10th, 2022 at Eastwick Free Library to learn more about the health inequities affecting the Southwest community. The purpose of the listening session is to understand barriers to receiving cardiovascular and/or mental health care from the community’s perspective. We will only use this information to inform our approach and shape the upcoming program we’re about to launch.

This fall, we will launch an innovation competition called the Well City Challenge (WCC): Community Solutions for Heart and Mind Health. The WCC aims to identify everyday innovators within Philadelphia who have great ideas to address health concerns that affect our communities, and we want YOUR input!

Details about the Challenge: WCC is a competition that will act as an incubator for innovators who have ideas or early-stage businesses that represent creative, promising, and scalable community-based health solutions to address conditions in their environment that limit cardiovascular or mental health care. Successful applicants will get access to a network of experts to help develop their business idea. Finalists will be connected to investors, health care systems, and other organizations to help the idea take off – and one or more participants will win a grand prize of $50,000!

If you feel passionately about health inequity and want to help shape this Challenge, contact Tia Abdulhadi to learn more about the Well City Challenge and how you can participate in the Community Listening Session.
