On Saturday, July 29th Christian Union Church held their yearly Community Day Health and Wellness Fair. Christian Union Church is located at 5535 Woodland Ave. Southwest Phila, where Dr. Larry Tucker Sr. is the pastor. The event was well attended and had something for everyone. This event is held to inform the community of resources they may not be aware of.
GPCA-South Philly, PCA Cares, Penn Medicine, Office of Community Empowerment, DEPT. of Records, PGW, PECO, Moravia Health, Maternity Care Coalition, CGRC, Penn Trauma, Drexel/Temple NW Community Residency, Phila College of Pharmacy, Drexel Medicine, and PHMC/PHOP. The vendors all donated their time and skills to make this event a success.
There were tables of clothes that were given away. Children enjoyed the bouncy house, and face painting. Attendees were able to enjoy cotton candy, water ice, snacks, sodas and water as well as grilled chicken, hot dogs, hamburgers and served with macaroni salad. There were live entertainments with an appearance of Mass Confusion Drum Corps of Southwest Philadelphia, 2023 Drum Champs. Music by DJ Handle It and music selections by The Gospel Disciples.
