Clean Water Action

The mission of Clean Water Action (CWA) is to protect our environment, health, economic well-being and community quality of life. CWA organizes strong grassroots groups, coalitions, and campaigns to elect environmental candidates and solve environmental and community problems.

The CWA team is working to connect themselves with block captains and community leaders around Philadelphia so that we can put an end to littering and stop dumping. Join the CWA in their fight against litter and dumping in your neighborhood by getting involved with the following:

Distribute Petitions

The CWA will provide participants with the necessary resources to distribute petitions to their neighborhoods. The signatures will allow them to have concrete evidence of support, which is the most poignant factor in convincing council people to vote “yes” on the ordinance.

Make and Post a Video Documenting Litter

By collecting visible documentation of litter in your neighborhood, the CWA will have confirmation of the urgent plastic pollution problem. Take a photo or video and post it on your social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) and use the tags “#LitterFreePhilly” or “#BYObagPHL”

Show Up

The CWA invites you to all organizational events held by them, the city, and their coalition. Attendance at these events is critical for support and representation from the city.

If you have any questions about the program, educational literature, or how to get more involved, contact Eastern Pennsylvania Director, Maurice Sampson at msampson@cleanwater.org or 215-545-0250 (ext. 263)
