Please join your friends and neighbors on Sunday, May 15th from 2 – 4 p.m. to continue to clean a historic section of Cobbs Creek at Woodland Avenue and Cobbs Creek Parkway. Since the regular 4th Sunday clean up in May would fall on Memorial Day weekend, the Cobbs Creek Clean-up Team is hosting a special Sunday effort on May 15.
“Our goal is to get the area completely clean and free from all trash. You don’t have to stay during the entire clean up, and we would love to see you!” advises clean-up planner Richard Guffanti. A longtime dedicated Trail cleaner-upper, Richard can be reached for questions at via Cobbs Creek Cleanups <cobbs-creek-cleanups@googlegroups.com>
“What do you need to bring?” Nothing (except your enthusiasm!). Organizers will provide gloves and all equipment, like trash bags and trash pickers and water. Dress appropriately (Long pants and long sleeves will protect you from poison ivy).
“Where?” Cobbs Creek Parkway and Woodland Avenue There is a gravel lot at this location where you can park. You can also ride your bike and/or take SEPTA’s Trolley #11 (it will drop right off at the Blue Bell Inn!). For more information, go to Route 11 Sunday Schedule
“What?” We will be cleaning around Blue Bell Inn and along the creek trail.
“Who?” You, your family (kids are welcome), and friends!
“Why?” We will honor history and clean our park green! And we will have fun.
