Deeply Rooted, a community-academic collaborative, that uses the healing power of nature to promote health and well-being in Black & Brown Philadelphia neighborhoods hosted its first Community Partner’s Gathering on 12/6/23 at Bartram Gardens. This event was borne out of feedback from our Neighborhood Collaborative; a group of organizations having shared leadership created within each target neighborhood designated to plan, guide, and make decisions to advance the goals of Deeply Rooted.
This event was celebratory, bringing together Community Partner Organizations from the following target neighborhoods of West and Southwest Philadelphia: Mill Creek, Belmont, Haddington, Carroll Park, Kingsessing, Cobbs Creek, Paschall, and Elmwood. Eighteen of our partnering organizations participated and celebrated the accomplishments of Deeply Rooted, the contributions of our community partners, learned about partnering organizations, and brainstormed visions of future directions. Our goal for this event was to have community partners feel excited about the partnership and connect both inside and outside of their neighborhoods.
