Gemma Help for SW Families & Children – Dec. 9

Facing difficult family & children situations?  Many services for at-risk families are offered by Gemma Services at Preheim Center at 65th & Chester Ave.   Find out more at a Zoom Open House on Dec. 9 beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Gemma Services offers effective, compassionate help for children and families in Southwest who are experiencing difficulties.  Many of these caring programs are offered at its Preheim Center located at 6517 Chester Avenue.   Other programs are presently being offered virtually via Telehealth and online platforms. 

On December 9, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.,  Gemma will be holding a virtual Open House via Zoom to introduce community members and other providers to the services at the Preheim Center.  These programs include:

  •  Outpatient Mental Health Services for children and families,

  •  Family Empowerment

  •  Family Based Mental Health Services,

  •  Foster Family Care

  •  Adoption and Permanency Services

  •  Family In-Home Protective Services.

Gemma’s Preheim Center was previously part of theVillage – known for many years at the Presbyterian Children’s Village which faithfully served Southwest families and children for 142 years.  TheVillage merged with Silver Springs-Martin Luther School merged in 2019 to form Gemma Services.

The Gemma Zoom Open House on December 9 will be on a “drop-in” basis.   Those interested in attending can join the Zoom call at any time during the one and one-half-hour window from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.  Residents can hear representatives from the Gemma programs describe the services offered and answer any questions.
