The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) helps families living on low incomes pay their heating bills in the form of a grant paid to the utility company. Households in immediate danger of
being without heat can also qualify for Crisis grants.
Southwest CDC will be helping people with their LIHEAP grants beginning November 1 st . After that, they will be assisting people Monday – Thursday 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
There are income guidelines (a family of 4 cannot earn over $38,625). You do not need to be on public assistance to be eligible. You don’t need to have unpaid heating bills. You can rent or own your home.
