After 6 years of being Southwest CDC’s Neighborhood Advisory Committee’s Program Coordinator, Mark Harrell has accepted a position with the City’s Register of Wills Office. Mark will be working in community engagement and his goal will be to educate residents about the important role the Register of Wills Office has and the services they provide.
“I will miss you all. You know my heart will remain in Southwest” Mark said at his last staff meeting.
“He was an integral part of the organization and one of the most popular employees.” said Donna Henry, Executive Director of Southwest CDC. “We already miss Mark. He was so committed to sharing information and resources to Southwest residents.”
During his time at Southwest CDC, Mark went to the homes of people who were facing foreclosure to make sure they knew that they had a court appointment coming up and that they could get help from a housing counselor for free. Mark served on many committees, panels and councils. He served on the 12th Police District Advisory Council and worked closely with Community Relations Officer Arnold Mitchell. Once the pandemic caused almost everything to shut down, Mark focused on spreading information, especially Covid-19 related, on social media.
The Southwest CDC staff all wish Mark the best in his new role.
