MLK Day Clean Up Opportunities!

There are 3 cleanup locations for this year’s MLK Day coming up in just a week on Monday, 1/15/24!

  1. 65th St. and Cobbs Creek Parkway, Ambassador: Greg. 9am-11am.
Map link: 65th and CC Parkway (Note: This is further south than my usual location at Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Parking will be along CC Parkway or surrounding streets at 65th, but you could also park at the Mt Moriah Cemetery entrance in the gravel lot and walk down to 65th St. (about half a mile)).
  2. 70th St. and Cobbs Creek Parkway, Ambassador: Andrew. 9am-11am.
Map link: 70th and CC Parkway (Note: Greg and Andrew’s groups will head towards each other and cover this half mile area we rarely get to).
  3. 63rd St and Walnut St., Ambassador: Stacey. 10am-12pm.
Map link: 63rd St & Walnut St (Note: Another great spot that regularly has a high level need for cleanup).

They will be cleaning up along the Cobbs Creek Trail and surrounding area. Trash removal from trail, creek, and surrounding woods preserves this area for all to enjoy and prevents trash from traveling elsewhere in the watershed area.

Bring nothing (except your enthusiasm!). They will provide gloves and equipment like trash bags, buckets, and some pickers. Waterproof shoes are nice if going by creek but on the trail it’s dry. Bring your own water. Dress appropriately to stay warm!

They are limiting sign ups to (around) 25 people per location. If you have any questions please email Greg at
