For six weeks during the months of December and January, Access Centers had the chance to participate in a poster challenge, which engaged students and explored the theme of Unity. The challenge was to create a poster which demonstrated a unique vision of what Unity looked like for each Access Center.
On February 10th there was a culminating event to celebrate all the hard work throughout the six-week challenge. Prizes were given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.
Two of the Access Centers where Southwest CDC has staff working with students won. The 1st place winner was Francis Myers Rec. Center Access Center and the 3rd place winner was Cobb’s Creek/Christy Rec. Center Access Center. Southwest CDC also has staff at James Finnegan Playground and their Access Center also participated and did an amazing job with their poster.
