Southwest Covid-19 Crisis City Offers Free Meals During Virus Epidemic

While public schools are closed due to the Covid-19 virus epidemic – initially from March 16 – March 27, the City offers free meals and safe activity locations on weekdays: 

Meals While Schools Are Closed:   Weekdays (Mon. – Fri.) from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, youth may pick up two meals.  (They are shelf-stable and don’t require refrigeration):  

  –  Add B. Anderson School, 1034 S. 60th Street (19143)

  –  William C. Longstreth School, 5700 Willows Avenue (19143)

  –  Tilden Middle School, 6601 Elmwood Avenue (19142)

Safe Activity Centers for Children:   Open to youth weekdays (Mon. – FrI) from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. One meal per child will be provided at 3 p.m.:

  –  Christy Recreation Center, 728 S 55th St, 19143

  –  Cobbs Creek Recreation Center, 280 Cobbs Creek Pkwy, 19139

  –  Francis Myers Recreation Center, 5801 Kingsessing Ave, 19143J. 

  –  Finnegan Playground, 6801 Grovers Ave., 19142

  –  Kingsessing Recreation Center, 4901 Kingsessing Ave., 19143
