Food Trust employees demonstrate how to make Fruity Cucumber Salad.

Every Wednesday from 12pm to 3:30pm in front of the Cobbs Creek Library, Food Trust hosts a farmers market with fresh vegetables, fruit, baked goods and flowers. The farmers market is open once a week until September.

Every other week members of the Food Trust host a cooking demonstration using the produce and this week was fruity cucumber salad. Fresh cucumbers and peaches mixed with chili powder and lemon juice made for the perfect summer salad. The next demonstration will be held on August 10th, 2022. After your cooking demonstration you can pick up resources about easy ways to save money on healthy food and ways to create a shopping list so you have an efficient grocery store trip.

The farmers market accepts EBT/P-EBT, WIC and Food Bucks. For every $5 someone spends with EBT they will receive food bucks that can be redeemed at farmers markets and other retailers within the Food Trust’s Food Bucks Network.
