Tree Planting at Cobbs Creek & Whitby – October 10 & 18

Trees not only beautify our streets and parks, they reduce pollution, absorb heavy rainfall, and lower hot summer temperatures. Cobbs Creek volunteers will plant trees on two up-coming mornings in October.

Clean-up Team adds shade and beauty to busy corner

Southwest and West Philadelphia residents are well aware of the great job the Cobbs Creed Clean-up teams and Cobb Creek Ambassadors do.  Year ‘round, week after week, they volunteer countless hours to keep our unique Park and Parkway attractive and safe.  They happily pitch in to make the nature trail, recreation facilities and sidewalks clean and free from unsightly and harmful trash

These helpful neighbors also sponsor activities that enhance our quality of life like the bike tour of the park last August.

On Monday morning, October 10 (9-11 am) and Tuesday Morning October 18 (10 am-12 pm) they will undertake another activity – planting trees at the intersection of Whitby Ave and Cobbs Creek Parkway.

Clean-ups leader Richard Giuffanti cordially advises, “ If you are interested in coming out to help or cheer us on, please email Meghan Lockman at meghan@landhealthinstitute.org.

Residents and friends can find out more about joining and supporting the clean-up activities by contacting Richard at Rich.Guffanti46@gmail.com
