Our neighbor, Bartram’s Garden is in the running for a major, $200,000 grant to help it serve our Southwest community (even better than it already does!)

The grant opportunity is provided by Philadelphia Foundation and is entitled “Reclaiming Local History and Championing an Inclusive Future in Southwest Philly.”  It will invest directly in local youth and community leadership here in our neighborhood.

Supporters can vote once each day by visiting the website www.philafound.org/vote/

Bartram’s Garden already reaches out to Southwest residents – and especially our young people – with cultural education programs for all ages.   It serves as a popular venue for home-schooled kids, provides boating and fishing on the Schuylkill River, and of course, sponsors the Sankofa Farm which provides produce, berries and fruits throughout the summer.
