Do you live in Overbrook Park, Carrol Park, Haddington, Cobbs Creek, Kingsessing, Paschall, or Elmwood Park? Apply to be a Community Greening Liaison! Help shape the future of the Cobbs Creek Park and surrounding watershed.

Residents and local organizations will help define the vision, identify sites, and set priorities, rather than receiving a fully baked plan from outside experts. To ensure that the process of creating this plan is community-led and reflects neighbors' visions, there will be stipends available for people to be Community Greening Liaisons.

Apply by November 1st: https://bit.ly/4h1dBUm 🌿

What is a community greening plan?

A community greening plan is a community-driven process where residents with direct experience shape how green space gets expanded, restored, and maintained.

Residents and local organizations define the vision, identify the sites, and set the priorities.

Why Cobbs Creek, Why Now?

Other parks and watersheds across the city have greening plans that unlock funding for access, recreation, conservation, and stewardship. Cobbs Creek doesn't have one.

Neighbors deserve a clean, safe, well-maintained park. Pollution, water quality, illegal dumping, invasive species, and safety concerns all deserve real attention and real investment.

Community leaders and programs have been caring for this park for years. Future visions of the land should be built around them. City projects are being planned in and around Cobbs Creek. Greening plans give the community a voice in those decisions.

Community Greening Plan Priorities:

  • Park and Creek Restoration & Stewardship

  • Programming & Education

  • Environmental Justice & Park Resources Advocacy

  • Maintenance & Illegal Dumping

  • Forming a Resident-Led Park Organization

  • Communications (Internal & External)
